Process / Understanding and Meeting
Requirements
For Softdev, a project that meets technical requirements,
but fails to improve the business is not a success. For this
reason, while it is not a requirement, we prefer to work with
clients at the analysis and requirements level to assure that
the project meets corporate objectives. Business and marketing
savvy combined with technical knowledge proves to be a far
more successful combination than consultants who provide technical
assistance alone.
It has been our experience that many projects fail when technical
talent does not understand the business requirements or fails
to properly translate requirements during design. Moreover,
there are frequently exciting business opportunities which
can be addressed, workflow and usability features that may
not be realized by management until after prototyping, and
a host of other issues which a non-technical management may
not be aware of when working with pure software development
outsourcing firms (see Case Studies).
