About Partnerships
Flexible agreements on sharing source code are useful in reducing
contract or hourly costs, if the client does not need to exclude
Softdev from selling pieces of the technology to other clients
and reusing the intellectual property. Given, of course, that
the proper protections are in place for the client against
the solution being deployed for client competitors. We applied
this model in the uBid project, allowing the client to receive
an auction system for far less than the original quote. This
makes sense for clients needing a business solution, but that
are not software development companies themselves and are
therefor not typically in the business of redeploying solutions
for other companies or customizing such software as is typically
required to make such a sale.
Clients can leverage existing Softdev software products and
libraries to deploy projects more rapidly, libraries developed
and licensed from prior work and agreements. Softdev will
consider funding, shares, investment, and other forms of payment
in addition to hourly or contract payment. Softdev is willing
to manage entire outsourced product development as a contractor
or manage a funded startup operation on behalf of interested
corporate partners.
Softdev is open to the option of partnerships and funding
of various business plans and venture projects, with business
plans and product concepts provided by funding partners or
personal business relationships (Peer to Peer computing and
XML being of special interest to the group).
